After a year free of book challenges, I’ve decided to do the TBR challenge hosted by Adam at Roof Beam Reader. I really like this challenge because it doesn’t require me to buy any books or to read genres I wouldn’t normally go anywhere near. It’s a straightforward read the books you have challenge. As such, here is my list.
- Have You Eaten Grandma – Gyles Brandreth
- The Long Call – Anne Cleeves
- Crime and Punishment – Fyodor Dostoevsky – not finished
- Ananci Boys – Neil Gaiman
- Outliers – Malcolm Gladwell
- Live By Night – Dennis Lehane
- The Lost Language of Cranes – David Leavitt
- More Tales of the City – Armistead Maupin
- Homage to Catalonia – George Orwell
- Bleeding Hearts – Ian Rankin
- The Kitchen God’s Wife – Amy Tan
- The Two Towers – J R R Tolkien
Alternates:
- Americanah – Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
- The Princess Bride – William Goldman
I haven’t read ‘Live by Night,’ but I love Dennis Lehane’s work. If you like it, I highly recommend ‘Gone Baby Gone’ and ‘Mystic River.’ 🙂
I’ve read Mystic River and really enjoyed it. I have also read Shutter Island which I would definitely recommend. I’m looking forward to reading Live by Night.
